With the Bazaar of Moxen 2012 Legacy tournament in the books, we are happy to report that it was the largest privately sponsored Legacy tournament to have ever taken place to date, with an awesome 724 players in attendance (breaking last year’s record of 633). This year the Top 4 decided to split the prizes, and your Top 4 as as follows: Nicolas Crepelle (Sneak and Show), Marc Duran (GW Maverick), Cyrill Terroy (Tempo RUG Zoo), and Simon Rouzé (RUG Delver).
Terroy Cyril of Paris, France won the Golden BoM 2012 Award, awarded to the player with the highest finish in both the Vintage and Legacy main events. Terroy piloted Tempo Zoo to a Top 4 finish in the main Legacy event, and played Dredge to a 15th place showing in the main Vintage event, netting him a playset of Underground Sea’s altered by the fabulous Sandreline.
The coverage teams from WatchDaMatch, Mana Infinito, and BoM were working hard all weekend to document Eternal’s biggest International weekend, and our many thanks go out to them, for without their hard work the information below would not be available. Below you will find the Bazaar of Moxen 2012 Legacy Top 8 decklists, videos from the coverage, as well as various BoM Legacy tournament reports from around the web, as well as some bonus decklists and information from other competitors who finished outside the Top 8. I wanna focalize our attention on the game with Alessandro Della Queva vs Tristan Pozzi, round 7 of Legacy Main event.
If you see around the min 25, is very clear the cheating on brainstorm Tristan draw 4 and put down 3.
I think in some way is necessary do something for apply a DQ to that player.
Stinfo
Stinfo, I have reviewed the video a few times now, and it appears you may be wrong. On Alessandro’s third turn end step Tristan has 7 cards in hand (25:00). He draws on his turn for 8 cards in hand, and then plays a Tundra at 25:25 for 7 cards in hand. If you look at clip 25:39, it appears he has 4 cards on table before he puts them in his hand, but there are only three right side card edges, and at 25:40 when he goes to put the cards in hand he only makes three motions. Before Brainstorm finishes resolution at 25:42 he appears to have 9 cards in hand (which would be correct if he started the turn with 7 cards). After he puts two cards back from Brainstorm he then has 7 cards in hand at 25:49 and at 25:54. The numbers all add up to a legitimate Brainstorm.
Now I don’t know Tristan at all, but full analysis of the video seems to contradict evidence of foul play.
To further break the video down more exactly, follow along at home and pause and stop and restart as you need.
At 23:49, after Tristan’s first turn land drop and Ponder, he has 7 cards in hand (from left to right):
Flooded Strand
Brainstorm
Chain of Vapor
Doomsday
Sensei’s Divining Top
Doomsday
Tundra
On his next turn he draws Polluted Delta (8 cards in hand), plays Flooded Strand (7 cards in hand), passes the turn. On his draw for his turn 3 Tristan draws Brainstorm (8 cards in hand), and he plays Tundra (7 cards in hand), and at 25:31 he has the following in hand (from left to right):
Sensei’s Divining Top
Doomsday
Brainstorm
Doomsday
Chain of Vapor
Polluted Delta
Brainstorm
Notice how he moves the cards into his hand, in three strokes, so the first card drawn should then be the third card in from the right. He has a new Flooded Strand, Karakas, and a Rain of Filth, with 9 cards clearly in hand at 25:42 (9 cards, that’s it). Now watch from 25:43 to 25:49 very carefully, repeatedly. He grabs the second to far left card (Doomsday), then the card on far left (Sensei’s Divining Top), and that’s it. At 25:44 after he has grabbed the TWO FAR LEFT (ie. EXISTING) cards from his hand above there are two cards in his left hand (Doomsday #2 and Sensei’s Divining Top, in the same order from hand above at 25:31), which he then puts back on top of library at 25:45. He does not rearrange the order of his hand and at 25:49 it is quite clear (from left to right):
Brainstorm
Doomsday
Chain of Vapor
Polluted Delta
Flooded Strand
Karakas
Rain of Filth
Again, I don’t know Tristan, so it’s not like I’m here to defend a friend, but it’s pretty clear by examining all the evidence that you guys are pretty wrong. The still at 25:39 shows three right card edges, and what everyone was assuming was a fourth card edge is probably just the shitty quality video, and what appears to be cards 3 and 4 (all the way to the left, where it only shows one right card edge) is most likely just that, one card. Look at the full evidence and clips, and not just one or two stills.
The problem is another..not how many cards it has in hand after brainstorm..because the quality is very bad..but how many cards tristan draws with brainstorm!?!?!?
4 !!!!!!!!!!
It kinda looks like he draws four, but the fourth card really stays on top of the library. Since the picture quality isn’t very good and it’s hard to count cards well when you only see the sleeve, the easiest way to check this is by counting the cards in his hand. He has 7 before he casts Brainstorm, then he has 6. He draws the cards and you can clearly see that he has 9 cards before he puts any back on library. This means that he drew only three cards.
